Mission

INTERACT is the Inter-Organization Cancer Genetics Clinical Evidence Coalition. The coalition works to promote evidence-based standards for the use of genetic testing as a tool for the prevention, early detection, and effective treatment of cancer.

Genetic testing can provide invaluable information about an individual’s risk for cancer, as well as point the way to more effective, targeted treatments. INTERACT advocates for professional society practice guidelines that foster wider and more equitable access to both genetic testing and standard-of-care medical management based on results.

INTERACT’s mission is to bring specialized genetic testing laboratories and other industry organizations as well as patient advocacy groups together to support the progression and evolution of medical policy and industry guidelines for cancer genetic testing. The Coalition intends to accomplish this mission through evidence development and collective engagement and evidence sharing with appropriate societal/guideline stakeholders and patient advocacy groups.
